ISLAMABAD: NDU’s Department of Peace and Conflict Studies Assistant Professor Maria Effendi has been selected as Academic Advisor of Rotary Peace Centers Committee.

As per detail, Ms. Maria has been selected and served the panel which selected 100 individuals from around the world for Rotary Peace Fellowships 2016-17.

It has been learned that Ms Maria is the only Pakistani and South Asian who has been nominated for the year 2015-2016 by Rotary Foundation of Rotary World International to hold this prestigious membership.

Talking to the scribe, Ms. Effendi said: “Only Pakistani and South Asian as a member of Rotary Peace Centers Committee to select 100 individuals for this fellowship. As a former Rotary World Peace Fellow (2006-08) too and I completed my MS in Conflict Resolution at University of Bradford (UK)  so thats actually an honour that the fellowship i went for to pursue my studies, today i am one of those who select people for the same fellowship.”
