PCS student selected to participate in Youth parliament Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: M Phil Scholar from Department of Peace and Conflict Studies National Defence University Talal Mustahsan Raza was selected to participate in a mock session of Youth Parliament Pakistan (YPP) administered by Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT).

The session was held on Sept.14-Sept, 18, 2015 at a local hotel in Islamabad.

Mr. Talal was selected among 240 candidates from across Pakistan to attend the third session of YPP out of the pool of the more than 2500 applications received from across Pakistan. Previous two sessions were held in July and September respectively. The fourth session will be held in October.

It has been learned that participants of YPP go through rigorous training on Pakistan’s parliamentary practices. They not only attend lectures on issues of national interest but also participate in extensive discussions, pass resolutions and propose solutions to Pakistan’s sociopolitical challenges.

Apart from Mr.Talal, Ms.Zoha Khalid and Ms.Shahana Khan from NDU’s International Relations Department were selected to attend the YPP session.
