Alumni lecture series: ‘Peace education key to demolish social evils’, PCS alumnus Rameez

Islamabad/ April 20, 2015: In the midst of prevailing security situation and extremism, peace cannot be achieved without promoting peace education in educational institutions.

This was stated by Quaid-e-Azam university lecturer and Department of Peace and Conflict Studies (PCS) alumnus Rameez Ahmed Sheikh.

Mr. Rameez was invited at PCS under “PCS alumni lecture series” initiative to deliver a lecture on peace education.

Throughout the lecture, Mr. Ahmed talked at length about the concept of peace education and the role of NGOs in promoting peace education in Pakistan.

Responding to a question, Mr. Rameez noted that the soft initiatives taken up by NGOs such as peace through art, peace through sports et el are preparing the groundwork for concrete decisions that government has to take to promote peace education.
